  1. “Do It Now” This phrase reminds me of the Nike slogan, “Just Do It” Both of the quotes mean the same thing. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. I feel that teachers can’t stress enough to never procrastinate. I think that if I took a survey of all the children in the world, 99% of them would say that they always procrastinate. It is such an easy thing to do, but it causes a lot of problems!

Let’s start from the beginning. Why do people procrastinate? I think that a major reason that people procrastinate is because they are not motivated to do better. In my math class, we a Aleks. The other honors class was a chapter ahead of my class, and one thing that I observed was that the people who did not care that the other class was ahead were the ones who did not finish that chapter that we were on in time. Those who did want to catch up to the other class actually finished their chapter before that due date. Looking back at it, I think that if a person is not motivated to do something, they will put that thing off until it is done at last minute.

Another big reason that I believe that people procrastinate is because they think that the target is too difficult to achieve. The reason that I did not run cross country in 6th grade was because I believed that running a mile and a half was too difficult. I believed that I would not be able to do that. In 7th grade, my parents told me that until I did not try the thing itself, I would not know if I actually can’t do it. I tried it and I found out that I was fantastic at it. Without trying you can’t really know anything.

Now whenever the topic of procrastination comes up, you always have people who argue that the stress of procrastination helps them work better and more efficiently. Well I think that they are wrong. There is a reason for this- these types of people have never actually done their assignments on time, so they do not know the feeling of doing things of time.

Going back to the quote, “Sometimes later becomes never” I think that this is a long-term effect of procrastination rather than an immediate effect. I have procrastinated before, but it has never been that I did not finish the assignment. I always finished the assignment. But I think that with enough repetitions of doing it last second, you will end up not doing stuff at all. You get lazier and lazier until the point that you say that, “That is not major, it's okay if I do not do it.”

Some ways that I believe that people can stop procrastinating is creating a to-do list. And in our digital world, I think that we need a digital to-do list. I have a solution for this: There is an extension that you can add on Google browser called Momentum. (if anyone who wants to download this needs help, ask me). This is a to-do list app in which you can add all your to dos, and where ever you sign in, your list carries along with you. I have it connected to both my school and home accounts so that I can write down my assignments at school and do them at home. It is user friendly, and will keep everyone organized.

To wrap it up, I think that this quote depicts that problems that people can have when they procrastinate- they will end up never doing their assignment. Procrastination is like doing drugs. You may feel relaxed and “high” in the beginning, but it all goes downhill from that.

  2. Which student do you know that has never procrastinated in their entire life on assignments that are due? Very few, if any, is the most likely answer. That is because we as humans tend to procrastinate. If we do not view something of utmost importance, we will tend to put off on completing the said thing until the said thing is due. It just happens to be a trait that makes us all human. Sure, there are those people who always prioritize their time and get all of assignments done on time and to the adequate level of which the assignments require, but I am not one of those people. That is not to say that I do not do my work, I do. I simply wait until the last possible minute to actually get started on the work. For example, I remember many times waking up at the crack of dawn to finish my writer’s journals, articles of the week, or whatever assignment it was that I simply could not be bothered to do the night before. Really, the work is not even just that difficult to complete; it is simply so time consuming to do. Time that could be spent doing a number of other productive activities. Actually, I believe that this is a large factor in people procrastinating on their work that they are aware is due. The fact that they are not intellectually stimulated by the work that they have been given. I can only give the opinions and experience of myself, since I can only account for myself, but, I can share the experiences that other people have shared with me. Therefore, I can say with absolute certainty that a large part of procrastination comes from the person not putting the assignment as a priority because it does not seem to be stimulating to them as a person.
The quote “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’” is one that is a somewhat cautionary tale. This quote is warning us that if we become much too lenient in the ways that we manage our assignments and time, we might run out of time to complete the task that we have been assigned. This is not a process that happens all at once, but a transformation that is slowly and steadily built up. Doing an assignment after lunch instead of right after school turns into watching all of your shows before doing your work, which turns into waiting until right before you get into bed to even look at what you were assigned, which turns into saving the work for the next morning, and so on and so on until you completely run out of all possible time that you could have possibly taken to complete the assignment. See, the danger of procrastination is not taken seriously because it is a danger that occurs slowly over an elongated period of time. You think that you are doing fine, until one day you wake up and realize that you are completely out of time to even remotely complete an assignment, or whatever task you had meant to be completed. Right now, I am simply talking about all of these hypothetical situations involving trivial matters such as homework and classwork that all happen in school, but this danger of procrastination can also be applied to all the things and opportunities that a person will have later on in life. If a person has the habit of procrastinating now in their life, what will happen to them later on? What will happen if they carry on these habits into adulthood? What will happen when that procrastination leads the person to miss an amazing job offer, or an opportunity to make a difference in the world? What then? That it why I personally particularly like this quote, because it both simultaneously warns and motivates a person to complete the tasks ahead of them.

  3. Procrastination is something that has gotten to all of us at one point in our lives, and it is not something that can be helpful. Sometimes, we are too lazy to complete something, and we push it aside for so long, that we are never able to do such a thing. I believe that the quote “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’” is a very true statement, and people should remember this when they are thinking about procrastinating on something, or saving it for another day.
To begin, you should never say that you will do something later, because then that makes you think that you have all the time in the world, and it tricks your mind into believing that you will be able to start it in the future. You never know what the future could bring, and that one day you decide to do such a thing could be one of the busiest days in the year, and you are forced to find some way to get it done along with your other things. I have done this before with finishing a worksheet that was given to me a week before it was due. This worksheet was hard, and I just kept waiting and waiting to complete such worksheet. It was not until two in the morning of the day it was due when I remembered I had to finish the worksheet. It took me until six in the morning to finish the worksheet, and I got a terrible grade on it. I definitely learned from my mistake.
Also, some people say they will do it later, and wind up never doing it, which leads to you missing out on incredible opportunities. This also happened to me with going to the movies. I was planning a day to go to the movies with my friends, and I had the opportunity to buy the tickets online before they were all sold. I kept waiting and waiting to purchase them, until one day I went on, and all the tickets were sold. I was hard for me because I really wanted to see that movie, and to this day I have not seen that movie once. Doing things right when they are assigned, or presented to you can also build a good habit, which can benefit you in the nearby future.
This quote can show that we as humans like to be lazy and put off things until a later date. This is not good, and could lead to us missing out on some of the best nights of our lives. We also as humans forget things very easily, and that could be a result from pushing to do something later than right now. I have had so many life experiences with this, and have learned that to say “later” means that you are ruining your chance do go see something amazing, or do something that could change your life for the better. Everyone should go out now, and do something that they have been holding off. You never know how important that one thing may be for your future, or anyone around you. I would rather be an early bird, than a late owl. The late owl almost never gets anything that they wanted because they put off doing so many things in life.

  4. The quote we have to react to this month, is “Do It Now. Sometimes “later” becomes “never”. This quote goes back to something pretty basic, something that was argued about a long time. Most teachers say this on field trips all the time. Before field trips at least, to warn us of the consequences of what may happen is we are bad. This is all just a matter of privileges.
Before a school field trip, a teacher may say, “Now, remember class, going on a trip is a privilege” and that is completely true. Anything that is given to you is a privilege. A right is a privilege that everyone wants to have, so they make sure that everyone has. A right is a concept made by humans, but to be honest, everything is a privilege. It is a privilege that you can buy food. It a privilege to get a house. It is a privilege to actually speak. Why are these all privileges? That’s because they can all be taken away at a moment's notice. A fire can burn a house down. A car crash can take your voice box. A disease can take away the food. We live in a dangerous world, and it is very hard to survive in this world, but humans some how make it work. In the same way, time is one of the biggest privileges we can have. Time is given to you, and it is never given back. You can never get time back. This second in time can never be given back to me, and I can never do anything with that time ever again. The main point of a privilege is that it can be taken away, and that is is never promised to you. That is the same thing the quote tells you. Time is never ever promised to you. This moment is all you can be sure of. The next moment is never promised, and it can always be taken away.
A sad example is 9/11. I’m sure many of the people in the Twin Towers had plans for the day. For the next day. They wanted to see their families when they got home. They had some idea of what they were going to do later. Well, the sad truth is that no one was able to fulfill those plans. Those people died in an instant, and many others died as well. Time is a privilege, and literally no one can change that. It can’t be promised that you will have time to do anything tomorrow. Because their is no guarantee that you will live until tomorrow. If you have time, do it now, because you may never be able to accomplish what you want to become tomorrow. Everyone has big plans for the future, and that’s something quite misleading. You should definitely have plans for the future, but you should focus on plans for the moment, because nothing is ever promised to you. That is what the quote “Do It Now. Sometimes “Later” become “Never” means to me. It tells me to stay on task and try to accomplish as much as I can now. Not later, but as soon as I can. That is what this quote means to me.

  5. “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’” This quote is, in a nutshell, talking about procrastination. Teachers and parents always tell us that we should never procrastinate. But most people, myself included, procrastinate anyway. It is not just students many adults do this too. Most people believe only students and kids procrastinate. But that would not be true. If you think those students and kids will eventually grow up, become adults and join the workforce. Procrastination is not a good thing to do. It will cause a lot of stress upon the person and they will end up not producing the highest quality of whatever they are doing.
If procrastination is such a big problem why would people continue to do it. People procrastinate because they might not care about what they are doing or they might think that task is too hard. Those are all the lazy people who want to get away with the minimal amount of work and do it at the last minute. If people do not have a motivation to do something they will not do it. During the summer, the library has a program that makes you read to get prizes. I have been doing it for a long time and the only reason why I bother reading is because of the prizes. I am pretty sure no one would have been doing this without the prizes. That just shows how much motivation can do. If people find a reason to do it, they will end up doing it. If something is too hard and will take a long time to do, people will sometimes procrastinate doing it. Those people who do that are being lazy and not attempting to put any work into it. They will only put the minimal amount of work into it when the deadline is very, very close.
I am a big procrastinator. I am not going to lie, I procrastinated on this blog and basically everything else. I procrastinate things like homework and doing projects, and even making my bed and putting my clothes in my closet. As long as I can find an excuse to not do it, I will procrastinate on it. It is not that hard when you get used to it. You just convince yourself that there is nothing wrong with putting it off until later, which is not true. Procrastinating can be very stressful and can cause you to not give in your best work. Some people do claim that procrastinating does help them. I do not know if that is true or not, but that is not the case for me. I got myself stuck in a deep canyon that will be incredibly hard to get out of due to procrastination. Now I just automatically procrastinate my work without thinking too much about it. I have become lazier and lazier. Now I do my work barely on time. Eventually, I may never get any work done.
This quote is something I should, and a lot of people, should follow. Because eventually they might get stuck in that deep canyon of procrastination with me.

  6.     In life, we do not have unlimited tries to whatever we want to do. There are chances that we should take even if it’s worth the risk. Taking risks are the biggest part in life that we have to conquer. If we don’t take risks, our lives would be bland and not interesting. Taking risks and doing things now can help us in the future to become a better person. “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’” is a quote that describes me very well. In my life, I have always chosen to do things at a later time. I always procrastinate to do things and it never works out in the end. My procrastination leads me to doing things last minute and stress about every little thing. I try to tell myself to do things at an earlier time but that doesn’t always work out. I convince myself to do things now so that it will help me in the future. I bet that most of us here procrastinate because we always have something else in our minds. Our minds are trying to multitask all the the things that we have to do and sometimes that just doesn’t work. We always say that we will do tasks later but that also leads us to never doing them. We sometimes just forget about these things because some more important is happening. Our lives are full of new experiences and the days that we try that new experience, we miss out what we said we were going to do later. Our minds are everywhere and it’s hard to focus on just one topic.
In my mind, I think that doing things now is better than doing things later. We sometimes miss out on what is right in front of us and keep it to the side so if we do it now there won’t be a problem later. Maybe if we all tried to have time management skills these problems wouldn’t occur. If we just say later for everything, we might not be able to do it in the future. Leaving it at a later time will delay us and it will cause us to be late to things. Procrastination is a thing that will never go away. People in our society are lazy and do things last minute. They think that will help them if they do it last minute but it really doesn’t. For example, doing your homework the day it was assigned is better than doing it last minute. You might just cram all the homework assignments that you have for the night before and it won’t help you in the future. All the information will be bombarded to you on one night and you will end up confused. Procrastination can lead to a lot of things. One thing you do can lead to another and then to another. It may occur to you that this is a never ending game because anything we do has a reaction to it.
Just a reminder, don’t wait until the last minute because it will just impact you more. Do things now because doing things later will sometimes become never. You always want to achieve the best in yourself because that will make you the happiest. Just do things now and don’t procrastinate. Procrastination may be your best friend but it can hurt you as well.

  7.     The phrase, “Do it now, Sometimes ‘Later’, becomes ‘Never” is very important. This is something that could help a lot of us in the future. By that I mean, we don’t realize how many things we put off. That is a major problem. The whole phrase speaks about a major problem in today’s society. It is fear. A lot of people are afraid of doing things because they believe that they aren’t good enough to do it. This freezes people up so that they never achieve their dreams. “Do it now,” is literally telling those who can’t do it themselves to go out and accomplish something. That is an important thing to do. Accomplishing things is the only way to move forward in life. If you don’t then you get frozen. That is a problem. You can’t get frozen in life or you end up a grumpy elderly person. You regret things, and wish you had done more. Which is why “Sometimes ‘Later, becomes ‘Never’” A lot of people also push things off for random reasons. Some are lazy, others don’t care, and back to the fear factor. Well, when you keep saying later, later, later. That eventually becomes never. That is something you can’t do. Especially if you want to have fun in life. I remember times when I wanted to do something but I kept pushing it off so I regretted it. Such as, when my mom said she could take me to my Grandma’s, however I wanted to play video games. So I told her to wait a little longer. Eventually, she went with my siblings and I regretted it so much. I wish I had gone. My siblings came back and said they had so much fun. Things like this happen all the time. You have to realize you have to take all the opportunities you have in life. With them, you will go far. Without them, you can't do anything. I now try my best to do everything I can in life. So, I know I won’t have any regrets. I know that certain opportunities aren’t worth taking, however most are. You can’t let never sneak up on you or you’ll regret it. It’s as simple as that. Sometimes people don’t realize that. Pushing it off more and more ruins the opportunity. So, take it while you can and cherish it. That’s what I get from the quote. I believe that’s what the quote is trying to say.

  8. Just imagine, if we all did things when we were supposed to, we would live such calm, and peaceful lives with much less stress. There would be no rush, and no trouble, instead students and employees would get more sleep and therefore live healthier lives. Unfortunately, this is not the way things work in our world today. We tend to push things off thinking “oh, I can always do it later” or “I still have so much time”. This quote tells us exactly not to do that. It says to do the opposite of what we do in our lives. “Do it now. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never’. I find this quote very relatable as I am a BIG time procrastinator. Whether it is a homework assignment, project, or a chore to do in the house, I always say that I will do something later and then for some reason or another, I do not get a chance to do it. I am positive many of my peers, and even teachers can relate to this situation. Procrastination is a big problem, and if we do not do something to stop it, it may lead to serious chaos in the world.

When we say ‘I’ll do it later’, what exactly do we mean? Maybe in a few minutes, maybe after a couple, or the next day? Sometimes even after a couple day, or a week? Sometimes, doing something later is not always a negative thing. You may be wondering, how can delaying something ever possibly be okay? Well, maybe it would be easier to understand if I gave you an example. Let’s say, I am doing my homework, I am focused and in the mood for work. All of a sudden, my mother comes in the room and tells me to fold the clothes in the laundry basket. If I am already in the mood set for homework and I do something else, it will probably distract me and at that time, I might tell my mother that I will do it after completing my assignment. As long as I stick to my promise, it would be okay to push something to later. The problem is, when people push things off to the next day or week. For one, we get really lazy if we push it off and that is when we get really lazy and never do it. For example, my little sister Shuchi, had to clean out her closet since her clothes were all unfolded and it was starting to look messy. She decided that she would do it the next day, which would be Sunday and went to play with her friends that day. On Sunday, there was an unexpected family get together and she was not able to do it then either. During the weekdays, she had school, and other activities so the closet just kept getting messier and messier. Now, it is so unorganized that sister just feels to lazy to clean it out even if she has time. If only she had done it last week instead of playing with her friends, when she had the time, and it was not even that messy, she would not have to worry about it now. In all, this quote is very important for everyone to understand and this is how interpreted it, and related to it.

  9. "Do it now. Sometimes 'later' becomes 'never'" This quote has quite a lot of meaning to it, to me personally and just in general. In my opinion, this quote is basically stating that you should never procrastinate, or put things off to do another time, because you will most likely never get back to doing that thing again. This could apply to anything really. School, sports, family-related and friend-related problems. Really a large plethora of topics this quote could apply to and it could apply to very well in that matter. First, I’ll speak about this quote in general, yet about specific topics. When talking about this quote in the perspective of school, this could apply to a lot of things. Anything from talking to a teacher to completing an assignment. A specific example, still connecting to school, that could apply to people with this quote would be procrastinating a project or homework and then forgetting about it or letting a bunch of other assignments just pile right on top of it. You may decide on doing the certain assignment early to get it out of the way, but then things come up. Out-of-school activities, family events, and lots of other things that could prevent you from achieving your goals or just getting it done in the first place. This applies directly to me so much. I mean I’m completing my blog now and it’s 4 days late already. I’m not to happy about that but sometimes, I’m lying, most of the time, I get way too ahead of myself and end up either completing forgetting about it or letting a bunch of other assignments keep piling on top of it. I’m not proud to say it, but I am the worst procrastinator when it comes to homework and pretty much anything school related. It truly is the worst habit and I hope to free myself from it as soon as possible, especially with high school fastly approaching. Another thing this quote could apply to could be family or friend related. By this, I mainly mean approaching problems not only as soon as possible, but in the correct way. If you get into a quarrel with your best friend, I would highly recommend fixing the problem right away because you could either end up in a very bad situation with them, could get others involved, or could potentially lose a great friend. This has never personally happened to me, but I can imagine how horrible it would feel to lose a friend when you very well could’ve done something to prevent it. Family relating to the quote is the same way. Although you can’t stop being family with something as you could with friends, but you could lose touch or be in a sad situation with the people you love when you can prevent it by approaching the problem head on, but in the correct way and not rudely. Sports is the next topic I’ll be relating this quote to. I think it could apply to practice or maybe getting equipment. Another thing is maybe speaking of what you’ll do to make yourself better, meaning you’ll say you’ll practice more or take advice and corrections and then you completely forget about them or just choose not to apply them at all. In conclusion, this is a great quote that could apply to a vast variety of topics and to a specific person’s life, as it just did mine.
